Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Page Runner mobile application (the "App") operated by Moonskater ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Page Runner is a reading tracker that allows you to time your reading sessions, count pages read, calculate reading speed, manage a personal book library, and view reading statistics. The App is available in free and premium tiers.
3. User Accounts
You may use the App without creating an account. If you choose to create an account:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
The App offers optional paid subscriptions ("Premium" and "Lifetime") that unlock additional features.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-Renewal: Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Price Changes: We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their respective refund policies.
- Lifetime Purchases: Lifetime purchases are a one-time payment granting permanent access to all Premium features available at the time of purchase and any future features added to the Premium tier.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the App
- Impersonate any person or entity
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and content, is owned by Moonskater and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Book metadata and cover images displayed in the App are sourced from third-party APIs (such as Open Library) and are subject to their respective licenses.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of any data you enter into the App (book titles, reading sessions, notes, etc.). By using cloud sync, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit this data solely for the purpose of providing the sync service to you.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Reading speed calculations and statistics are approximations based on user-entered data and should not be relied upon for academic or professional assessments.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Moonskater shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
10. Data Loss
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, App uninstallation, or service interruptions. We strongly recommend using the App's export feature to maintain backups of your reading data.
11. Third-Party Services
The App may integrate with third-party services (Supabase, RevenueCat, PostHog, Open Library). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. You may delete your account through the App's Settings screen.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State in which Moonskater is organized, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Moonskater regarding your use of the App.
